Our modern world.

So far in my life, there has been a lot of groundbreaking ideas, new technologies, and a whole new world of physics and astronomy have unfolded and we are getting a better look and understanding of our universe. It seems so unreal. Just a bit more than twenty years ago we were using brick sized cell phones and huge bulky computers. Now out computers ARE our phones! Seems like we're living in a golden era. Not exactly. Along with all of these amazing advances, there have been major setbacks and problems such as wars, oil spills, financial crisis, corruption, global warming, and most importantly to me, major overfishing. But today, July 28th, we are living in an even newer era of a possible hell on Earth. We have reached our tipping point. Seriously. Remember when all of those environmental speeches ended in 'we still have time though!' Well, those ages are over and we have reached our end. If we don't make major changes in at least five years, we will probably end ourselves. We have to erase everything we know and start over. Save the rainforests, save the ocean, save the arctic, hell, save everything! Just last week, the annual melting of the Greenland surface ice happened in just four days. Four. 98%. Almost all in four days. Shell is attempting to drill in the Arctic, which plays an important role in controlling our climate. If there is an oil spill there, we won't be able to clean it up without causing more damage. Greenpeace has gathered over 1,000,000 signatures and is declaring that the Arctic shall be a wildlife sanctuary. That's what everyone shoulod be thinking. Now you probably didn't know this, but to save our oceans, we would have to place over 40% of it in a sanctuary/ protected area. Now I'm going to stop here, no conclusion. Think, and comment. Thank you.
